Australian Rules football has been an integral part of my life from a very young age where I was privileged to witness firsthand the amazing opportunities, successes & friendships that come from participating in a team sport. Having played all my junior & senior football in Canberra, I now call the VPJAFC home where my son continues his own football journey.  I have been apart of the Sharks family for the past 4 years where I have been a Junior Assistant Coach & Team Manager, also playing a handful of games for the Bayside Bombers AFL Masters team.

Coaching to me is a wonderful & exciting opportunity to share my knowledge and love of this great game to the next group of champions. Showing the players what can be achieved when you work together as a team whilst also instilling positive values such as sportsmanship, self-confidence and leadership. I am looking forward to guiding the players as they continue to learn and develop their football knowledge & skill sets in a fun, safe and positive environment that is offered by our Club.

Bring on the 2019 season.

Boys U12's Red - Program Coordinator

Corey Lambert

Having had an extensive career as a senior player and coach I am very grateful that I get to support my son and other kids through their football endeavours.

Positively influencing kids through coaching and seeing them grow as footballers as well as young men is extremely rewarding. I love that our club is focused on providing a nurturing environment and positive culture for our kids to have fun playing the game they love.

As a previous player now with a young family involved in AFL, I see the benefits of kids getting out and about in balance with their social media world.  Exercising and learning healthy life pathways, meeting other kids and developing lifelong friendships within the broader community, learning to be a team player and a valuable contributor builds strong and positive kids for the future.

Seeing firsthand an evolution of skill and spirit over the course of a season is my key motivator for being an AFL Juniors coach and it is a great privilege to be involved with the Sharks again this year.

Growing up and playing junior and senior football at Emerald (Vic), I moved to Queensland with my Family in 1996 and found myself walking through the front doors of the Sharks Sporting Club. I have now been involved with the Sharks for 23 years as a player, a parent of 3 children who play for the Sharks and as a junior coach of several different age group from under 8’s up to under 17’s.

After many great years of playing our great game of Aussie Rules, I love nothing more than giving back the knowledge and skills I have learnt and being coach to not just the under 17 girls but to all the Sharks juniors. It gives me great pleasure to see the next generation of Sharks juniors having fun and enjoying the game that I grew up loving.
